On the call
What happened (facts)
- Cristina took Christopher's file at 11:02 AM. He opened his plan and demo site at 11:35 AM and worked on it before the call.
- At call time he got two calls at once: Cristina reached him on FaceTime at 1:02 PM, and Cyrus called him too. It turned into a three-way call.
- Cristina logged his answers (merch and personal income, he decides alone) and passed him at 1:11 PM.
- Asked what he does for work, he did not give a straight answer ("I grind down pieces of metal").
- Cyrus explained there is an investment and sent him a text. Christopher said the text showed as spam and asked if we are a scam.
- Cyrus asked how much time he had taken to prepare, then raised his voice. The call ended badly.
What it caused
- An hour of two people's time.
- A lead who now thinks we are a scam.
Cyrus, in his own words
"I handled the situation horribly. I raised my voice. It was unprofessional, and it's something I definitely don't want to do."
What we did after
- He is off the board, his emails are stopped, and his plan and demo site are down.
- He is off the field team's list, and his email and phone are on our block list, so he can't apply or book again.
What we do from now on
- One caller per lead. Whoever has the file makes the call. Nobody else dials until they say so. No double calls, no surprise FaceTime.
- Ask: “If your show got you a lot of attention, how would you turn it into money?” If there is no clear answer, end it kindly and early.
- Before you text, ask them to save the number, and say who the text is from.
- If "scam" comes up, use the four steps. Stay calm, never argue, never raise your voice.
