The Gusti Show

How The Gusti Show, genrique.com and Messy Delulu work together: what each one is for, the shorts that feed the show, and how one viewer becomes a regular.

What Gusti delivers

For the people who can see a big future for themselves and know they're different, a little weird, a little left out: Gusti gives them the steadiness to stand in it and the boldness to go after it anyway, awkward and all.

Who it's forThe two people we're talking to

The outsider who builds

Queer, or outside the lines some other way. They've always known they're different and they've stopped apologizing for it. They want to make something big, and they want someone in their corner who gets it.

You'll know them because
  • They got picked on for being different at some point, usually in school, and they still remember exactly who did it.
  • They've been called "too much" (too loud, too dramatic, too extra) more than once, and part of them still flinches at it.
  • They found their real people online or out at night before they ever found them at home.
  • They already make things: outfits, content, events, art. Just not every week, and not where many people can see it yet.
  • They keep a notes app or journal full of big plans they haven't told most people about.
The fringe philosopher

Too weird for yoga class, too philosophical for Pilates. Comfortable, curious, reads the strange books, believes in manifesting but rolls her eyes at the hustle-guru version of it. She wants a guide who's fun and a little unhinged in the best way.

You'll know them because
  • She has read at least one hard book cover to cover (Jung, Alan Watts, Marcus Aurelius, a book on quantum physics) and brings it up at dinner.
  • She owns a tarot deck and a few crystals, and will happily argue about whether any of it actually works.
  • She's tried yoga, a meditation app and a retreat, and found each one a little too serious or a little too fake.
  • She has money to spend and would rather buy from a person she likes than from a brand.
  • Her friends love her, but they don't want to talk about the meaning of life at brunch, so she feels a little alone in her head.

The triangleThree corners. One flywheel.

Every brand we build is three properties. Once someone runs into you through any one of them, they understand you a lot better, and they move around to the other two.

The Gusti Show

gusti.tv

The show is Gusti's link to the world. The long episodes live on gusti.tv, and the shorts run every day on every social account. The shorts are the volume: they get the attention, and every one of them points to an episode, his story or the store.

The shorts. Four series. Each one is under a minute, filmed on a phone, and easy to make a lot of. Together they show every side of him.

Series 1

Gusti Reacts

Gusti watches something and tells you what he really thinks: a trend, a viral clip, an outfit, a manifestation video, his own old photos.

The Sit-Down

One on one with someone who's stuck. Gusti walks them through his three steps until something moves: know you ain't shit and that's OK, oh well, and all them lil emotions. A friend's push, not therapy.

  • A self-help classic, translated into Gusti

Unnecessary Deliberations

Whatever's on his mind, done big: hot takes, silly debates with friends, and dramatic rulings on things that don't matter at all.

The rhythmOne short a day, rotating the four series (about seven a week), plus the season episodes on gusti.tv as they're finished. Film in one batch day a week so posting never depends on how the day is going.

Where people get closer. They wear his steps, light the candles, pull a card a day and join the Delulu Box every month. Buying something is how a fan says "I'm one of you."

The flywheelHow one person goes all the way around

  1. They see a short. A reaction or a sit-down stops their scroll.
  2. They watch the show. The short sends them to the full episode on gusti.tv.
  3. They get to know him. On genrique.com they read his story and his three steps, and it clicks: he's talking to them.
  4. They get closer. They pre-order a tee or a candle, or join the Delulu Box, on messydelulu.com.
  5. They come back around. They show up wearing it, tag him and send their story. The best ones become the next short or the next sit-down.

Every turn makes the next one easier: more shorts bring more viewers, and more fans give him more people and stories to film.

This weekWhere we start

  1. Pick your first two series. Gusti Reacts and Unnecessary Deliberations are the easiest to start: just him and his phone.
  2. Film one batch day. Seven shorts in one sitting, and a week of posting is done.
  3. Line up one sit-down. Someone you know who's stuck and happy to be filmed.
  4. Miami Art Week. The first big shoot, about a month away. The three ideas are at realityshow.com/gusti/formats/.
