Bravo is casting Project Runway Season 22 under its new home at Disney. The franchise has rotated between Bravo, Lifetime, and various streaming platforms since 2004; the current iteration is back on its original Bravo home.
⚠️ Verify deadline before applying. Per Audition Centre’s casting guide, the application window had a posted close date of Feb 1, 2026. Confirm current status at the official portal before submitting; production has historically extended or reopened windows when needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- US or Canadian resident (Quebec residents excluded due to local production regulations)
- Have a meaningful portfolio of original fashion design work
- Able to commit to ~10 weeks of continuous filming in New York City
- Strong on-camera presence (this is a competition show; cast members appear in roughly 90% of scenes)
What Bravo is looking for
The casting team is selecting for three things:
- A consistent design point of view. The portfolio should show a recognizable aesthetic, not a sampler platter.
- The ability to construct under time pressure. The show’s defining challenge is delivering finished garments on impossible deadlines. The casting team uses studio visits and timed challenges in the casting process to test this.
- Camera-watchable personality. Project Runway casts have historically included one or two “villain” designers, one or two underdog narratives, and one or two stylistic outliers. Knowing which slot you fit into can help your audition.
How to apply
Application at projectrunwaycasting.com. Includes a written application, a portfolio submission (10-15 pieces, photographed clearly), and a 3-5 minute intro video. Some candidates progress to in-person studio visits in NYC, LA, or Chicago.
Tips
The portfolio is the most important single element. Casting producers have said publicly that they make the first cut almost entirely on the basis of the portfolio. Edit aggressively. Show your strongest work first. If two pieces look similar, cut one. The portfolio should feel like a designer with a vision, not a student catalog.
