CBS is currently casting Big Brother 27, which films during summer 2026. The application is open and rolling, with no hard close date announced, though historically the casting team finalizes the houseguest list by early June for a July premiere.

Requirements

• Must be 21 or older by June 15, 2026
• US citizen
• Able to commit to approximately 100 days of continuous filming in the Big Brother house, with no outside contact
• Must pass a comprehensive background and psychological evaluation
• Cannot have an active book/TV deal or pending legal matters that would compromise filming

What CBS is looking for

The casting team has historically said publicly that they cast for personality types, not demographics. The 2026 cohort is reportedly being shaped around more competition-strategic gameplay, after a few seasons that leaned heavily on social dynamics. If you’re a former Twitch streamer, competitive gamer, professional poker player, or other strategy-game adjacent applicant, your audition tape probably gets a closer look this year.

How to apply

The official application is at bigbrothercasting.tv and includes a written application plus a short video submission (roughly 2 minutes). Some markets — Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta — also host in-person casting events; check the official site for current schedule.

Tips

The single most common reason audition tapes get rejected is that they sound rehearsed. Casting producers watch hundreds of these per week and can spot a script in 15 seconds. Be specific. Be quick. Have a point of view about how you’d play.
